Fire suppression and safety

Through a very close and deep rooted tie up with DSPA Nl of the Netherlands, Knoval brings absolute safety to the Indian industry by deploying aerosol based fire suppression technology to end users to help them protect their assets in a very human friendly and environment friendly manner.
At start of the fire suppression process, when triggered, a solid Potassium Nitrate compound in a cannister emits very fine solid potassium carbonates particles of less than 5 micron size suspended in Nitrogen gas extinguishing the fire through reaction by negative catalyses. The potassium radicals in the aerosol attach themselves to the O, H and OH in the fire to form stable Potassium Hydroxide and other stable elements and thereby breaking the fire chain reaction.
Deactivation methods are electronically through a fire panel or thermally through a thermocord or manually by using knock down tools
Knock down tools are used mostly in a fully developed fire situation which prevents fire fighters to enter the area to be protected. Once activated and released in the fire zone, the knock down tool will act on the fire and suppress it, thereby enabling the fire fighters to reach to the source of fire and extinguish it by using the traditional fire extinguishers.
On the other hand, fixed installations are preventive mechanisms based on activation by electric signal or a thermocord. In the fixed installations, DSPA units need to be integrated with the heat / smoke / IT sensors and a fire panel, thereby detecting the fire very early in its formative stage and suppressing its chain reaction. Recorded time from start of fire to its detection and suppression is 3.018 seconds.

The advantages of DSPA are:

DSPA is accredited as per UL 2775 standards, CEN/TR 15276-1 and 2, ISO/DIS 15779, TNO, USCG report IMO MCS/Circ 1007, RINA, BRE Global / LPCB, DRDO, Indian Navy and Government of Telangana
